Designing Intelligent Agents

Searchlight helps couples purchase items through a collaborative wishlist. Our goal was to provide couples with product suggestions that facilitate the understanding of other each other's interests, which in turn aims to reinforce their existing relationship.
Overview of System
Searchlight relies on an intelligent system to mine and predict product behavior; the system interfaces with local store inventory, records individual shopping history, and collects specific product feedback to align our couple's preferences together. A personalized application on a mobile device acts as the main interface to the system.
Scenario Development
Our team developed many short scenarios to convey how possible features of Searchlight could work. These scenarios were then presented to our audience group in "speed-dating" feedback or concept validation sessions. The most promising scenarios that emerged from these sessiosn were further developed to support our final product.
